Synchro-tron
Place: Aqffin Gallery, LondonSynchro-tron brings together the hybrid work of artists who are exploring many aspects of our ever-changing world. Tron is an artificial word used to explain the science fiction fantasy world created in a film from the 1980s. In synchro-tron this word has been adopted to explain the scientific fantasy world created by the work of the artists who have been brought together in this exhibition.
A synchrotron is a huge scientific machine that which synchronizes an electro and magnetic field to produce an intense beam of x-ray and ultraviolet light, millions times brighter than sunlight. This synchrotron light can penetrate deep inside matter and allows scientists to investigate the world around us at the scale of atoms and molecules. Such information can be used to help design new drugs, build more powerful computer chips, develop new materials for safer medical implants. Each individual artists style has become synchronized within this exhibition creating an exciting exploration into our environment.
